Disability advocate Anastasia Somoza says dissatisfied voters should consider standing for office in the wake of Donald Trump’s election win.

“Change the world starting in your communities” Somoza said, speaking at a Post-Election Call to Action event held by the National Organization for Women of New York in Manhattan on November 14.

Somoza, who has cerebral palsy, recently took part in a television ad created by Hillary for America supporting Hillary Clinton’s commitment to fighting underrepresented groups including those with disabilities.

“Latch on to issues you care about and remember, even if the successes are small, they do make a difference, and as long as we listen to each other and raise our voices loud and proud , we can combat the hate that was just voted into the office,” Somoza said.
